We spent the entire day working in mixed age group teams, taking on a range of challenges to develop creativity, problem solving, close communication and teamwork. From Year Six to Reception we were rolling newspaper tubes and exploring strong structures to build the tallest towers; linking struts and cables to make wide bridges; transforming piles of junk into charismatic upcycled robots; and harnessing gravity to construct gutterchutes to transport rubber boulders and water.
Thank you for all those parents who contributed materials for today’s activities. We had such a variety and mass of resources to choose from. As ever, the children behaved wonderfully. We have such a focus on looking after and including each other, striving to engage everyone in the challenges, and our pupils so often exceed expectations.
