Welcome
Welcome to Crowcombe C of E VA & Stogumber C of E VC Primary Schools.
Nestled at the foot of the beautiful Quantock Hills in rural Somerset, Crowcombe and Stogumber Federated Church of England Primary Schools are vibrant, nurturing learning communities where every child is valued, supported and encouraged to flourish. We are proud of our Christian distinctiveness, which is encompassed in our theologically rooted school vision and underpins all aspects of school life.
'Together, Let us Love, Encourage, Achieve and Flourish'
Our Christian vision shapes our relationships, our curriculum, and our commitment to ensuring that every member of our school community feels a true sense of belonging. Guided by this vision, we foster a culture of generosity, optimism, determination, curiosity and courage, where children are inspired to grow academically, socially, emotionally and spiritually.
We are committed to being truly inclusive schools. We believe that every child is unique and has the right to feel safe, respected and valued. Through high-quality teaching, personalised support and strong partnerships with families, we work to remove barriers to learning and provide equitable opportunities for all children, regardless of background, ability, need or circumstance. Our aim is for every child to achieve their full potential and to thrive as confident, compassionate and successful individuals.
As a federation, we share an Executive Headteacher, Governing Body and PTA, enabling us to offer a wide range of experiences, expertise and opportunities across both schools. Our dedicated mini-bus provides daily transport between sites, strengthening our sense of one school family.
As a small school federation, we regularly review our organisational structure to ensure we are providing the very best educational experience for all children. For the 2026-2027 academic year, Reception and Year 1 pupils, from both school rolls, will be taught at Stogumber School, while Year 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 pupils, from both school rolls, will be educated at Crowcombe School.
Although we are based across two sites, we see ourselves as one school community, united by our shared vision, values and commitment to providing exceptional opportunities for every child. We work closely together across both sites, with children benefiting from regular shared learning experiences, collective worship, celebrations, educational visits, sporting events, performances and enrichment activities. This collaborative approach enables our children to develop strong relationships across year groups, fosters a sense of belonging, and ensures that every pupil feels part of our wider school family.
Our small class sizes and high staff-to-pupil ratios allow us to know every child as an individual and provide the support, challenge and encouragement they need to achieve their full potential and flourish.
Above all, our schools are places where children are loved, encouraged to believe in themselves, inspired to achieve their very best, and supported to flourish within a caring and inclusive Christian community. We are proud of the kindness, respect and sense of responsibility shown by our pupils, and of the strong partnerships we build with families and the wider community.
Together, we create a place where everyone belongs, everyone matters, and everyone can flourish.
Please do not hesitate to contact us should you require any further information about the schools.
