Children's Prayers

As part of each of our family services the children write prayers. The Year 6 children wrote the following prayers as part of our end of year service in July 2024:

Dear God,

We gather here today to celebrate the last day of term.

We thank you for all the years at this school. Thank you for our memories. Thank you for our teachers that we had on the way and thank  you for the stuff we learnt on the way.

Please bless us for the future - for all the good and all the bad, all the hard and easy times, all the times we feel down and all the we happy ask for you to bless us.

Grant us wisdom in the years ahead, grant us courage when we are faced with wrong, give us strength when we need to make things right. Give us support when we need to choose between good and bad.

We pray for parents and teachers and brothers and sisters and uncles and aunties and cousins and so on - may they be blessed with strength and wisdom.

In your holy name, we pray, Amen.

Dear God,

As we assemble here today, our hearts open up to your love and fill with gratitude as we close the curtain on our years at this school.

Thank you for supporting us throughout our journey at Crowcombe and Stogumber Primary Schools. We thank you for helping us through the highs and lows of our years here. Due to your love and care, we have created many wonderful friendships and met many marvellous people along the way. We are grateful for the enjoyable moments and opportunities that we have shared with all of our friends and family. Thank you for all the challenges which have helped us thrive and bring to light our unique gifts and talents.

As we prepare to depart from this unforgettable school, we ask for your blessing to give us strength for the years ahead. May you direct us in our new schools, help us to generate new friendships, and give us courage to welcome more challenges for the future with confidence and faith.

Grant us wisdom in our commitments, tolerance in our difficulties, and happiness in our achievements. May we remember our core values in ourselves, and carry them along with us for our path ahead. May we be kind, respectful and determined as we take the next step to a brighter education.

We pray for our teachers, classmates and families that have assisted us along the way. Please continue to bless them with stability and passion.

As we say farewell, our hearts will be full of desire and enthusiasm. Thank you for aiding us on this journey and may you watch over us and help us make a positive impact on the world.

Dear Heavenly Father,

As we gather here today, we come before you with hearts full of thanks and anticipation.

We thank you for helping us through the wonderful years we have spent at this school. Thank you for helping us learn and grow, for the teachers who have supported us, and for the opportunities to discover our gifts and talents.

As we prepare to leave this school and move on to new experiences and adventures, We ask for your blessing on all of us here today. Help us continue on our learning journey, Help us to make new friends and give us courage to embrace new challenges with confidence.

Please grant us wisdom in our decisions, patience through our struggles and happiness in our triumph. Help us to think back to the values and lessons we have mastered and carry them with us always. May we always be kind, respectful and may we strive to make a positive impact in our learning.

We pray for our teachers, our classmates and families who have all supported us along the way. May they continue to be blessed with happiness and love. As we say goodbye, we do so with hearts full joy and excitement for the future. Thank you for being with us on part of the journey, and please continue to watch over us as we carry on throughout the years to come.

Dear God,

As we meet today, we gather before you with hearts full of gratitude and anticipation.

We thank you for the many happy times we have spent together at this school. Thank you for the friends we have made, the teachers who have taught us, and the lessons we have learned from.

As we prepare to go onto our new schools, we ask for your help. May you guide us as we leave this school, and help us make new friends at our new schools.

May you give us guidance as we embark on our journey to fresh starts at our new schools. Help us remember the times we have gathered together to learn and to have fun.

We pray here today for our teachers, classmates, and families who helped us along the way. As we go on we say goodbye with hearts full of hope and thanks.
