Safeguarding and Child Protection Statement

Email: safguarding@crowstog.co.uk

Welcome to Crowcombe and Stogumber C of E Primary Schools

The Safeguarding and Welfare of children and young people is the very highest priority of all staff at Crowcombe and Stogumber Primary Schools.  We expect all visitors to share this commitment.

Visitors must pass on any safeguarding concerns.  This can be done by:

  • Alerting office staff who will pass concerns on to the designated Safeguarding staff
  • Informing the designated Safeguarding staff directly (See Details below)
  • Using a confidential proforma if appropriate. (Available at the school office)

It is always best to pass on a concern – however small.  But we would ask you to immediately report any concerns about young people who you feel:

  • Might not be safe
  • Appear at risk of any form of harm or neglect
  • Appear vulnerable to exploitation (e.g Radicalisation/ Sexual Exploitation)
  • Are behaving in an unsafe way

We have a dedicated safeguarding email address:

Visiting or joining our school

A member of staff ensures that the school gates are kept locked at specific times during the school day. All visitors access the site via an intercom and are asked to report to the main office to sign in. Please be mindful that for everybody's safety, identification procedures will be carried out.

All members of staff are vetted against national safeguarding procedures before being allowed to work in school. At least one member of every interview panel has undertaken safer recruitment training to ensure that best practice and all necessary checks are carried out.
